I am curious in particular how it differentiates from FLI after reading https://www.wsj.com/tech/ai/who-is-max-tegmark-future-of-life-institute-accffffc today. If there's somewhere I should go to understand that, I would appreciate a pointer!
I got the name “pause” from FLI’s 6-month pause letter and I was very inspired by the polls after that letter showing high agreement with the idea of pause. Otherwise, we are completely independent orgs, and from the beginning PauseAI has been asking for an indefinite pause— until it’s safe to resume development.
FLI is a funder of PauseAI US and PauseAI Global, too.
I haven't been that active in EA the last few years, but still consider myself an EA. So this means your post addresses me. And many of the things you say about me seem very off base.
