For $60 we can talk confidentially for an hour about whatever you want, including this blog!

I'm looking for extra cash from flexible gigs so that I can be independent as I pivot into frontier AI moratorium advocacy, so I'm reviving my paid talking side hustle and lowering the rate! (If you want to pay me directly to help me do the advocacy, you can donate to my GoFundMe.)

You can buy an hour of talking with me for $60. Why would you do this? So we can focus entirely on what you want. I like providing emotional labor, but I can't afford to do it for free! I can:

• Just listen

• Provide an environment of listening, support, or soundboarding with rationalist/EA cultural competency (though by no means limited to those cultures). For example, unlike many therapists, I can listen to relationship issues involving polyamory without assuming poly is the problem.

• Talk about depression/mood disorders

• Talk about scrupulosity and OCD

• Talk about EA topics or things I've written about on this blog

• Talk about going through breakups/divorce (I'm divorced)

• Networking sesh where I connect you to all the people that could be helpful for you to know (I have large EA/Rationality, Harvard, and academic biology networks)

• Talk about EA organizing (I was an organizer at Harvard for 6 years) or the history and sociology of EA

• Support for when you are leaving a community or social group that you once belonged to (I left the religion I was raised in)

• Talk about life planning (volunteer 80k-style career coach at Harvard, lots of hard lessons about work-life balance)

• Emotional support with aesthetic changes like weight gain and acne

• Help you get started with a Getting Things Done system, which I have used on and off for years, and help you with some of the emotional work involved

• Talk about applying to jobs or grad school

• Go over job/grant/grad school application materials

• Help with writing and editing in general

• Provide expertise on biology, evolution, ecology, genetics, genomics, genomic conflict

• Or whatever you want! Some people just want to have a conversation, and those are generally super fun.

Unless otherwise discussed, all sessions are confidential. (Note, however, that, as I am not a therapist, I could theoretically be subpoenaed.) This is NOT sex work and I will hang up on you and keep your money if you behave inappropriately toward me. Payment for the first hour is due before the first session if I don't know you. No-show fee is $30. Each minute after the first hour is $2. You can now book up to 5 recurring sessions at a time.
