I’m Holly Elmore. I’m the Founder and Executive Director of PauseAI US, and that’s increasingly almost all I think about, but I’ve had this blog a lot longer than that.
I’ve always treated this blog is a place where I can work through ideas, letting the conditions of public conversation draw more out of me and force me to see the issue more deeply and freshly. My topics used to be mostly personal, otherwise eclectic. Now the focus is very often pausing AI, but the approach is the same. This is a place where I explore my own depths and feelings and the takes that don’t belong on PauseAI.
Starting in March 2026, paid subscriptions go to PauseAI US, a registered 501(c)(3), because I talk so much about my work and I don’t want there to be any question of personally profiting from the organization.
